This paper argues that unintentional pregnancy occurs as a result of the interplay of factors such as inadequate use of contraception or a complete lack of access to it and also inadequate knowledge of the fertility period. It is pertinent, therefore, to examine the interrelationship between knowledge of ovulation and contraception among young women between the ages of 15 and 24 years in 29 African countries.
