Tackling female digital exclusion: drivers and constraints of female Internet use in Nigeria

Consequently, this paper examined the patterns, constraints and drivers of female Internet use in Nigeria. Using spatial and aspatial techniques, we uncover spatial hot and cold spots while logistic regression analysis found that wealth status, urbanity, age, women’s autonomy, and education significantly predict female Internet use. The study recommends that emphasis should be placed on gender equality and urban digital inclusion to increase female Internet use in Nigeria.
